An
Unexpected Interview
Greetings my dear
beloved whoever you are, I wish you are happy and well. To all my regular
readers I thank you for sharing your time by reading what I write it really
means a lot when someone appreciates my work. Yes I know I have been very late
with my posts. These past 3 weeks has been a decision making period of my
future and because of that I guess my mind was not in a clear state for
writing. The good news is I am back to serve all you wonderful people with some
truly interesting aspects of social relations in our beautiful country.
During my short hiatus I have rather come
up with some interesting ideas on how to improve or should I put serve you
better with my creative writing. These ideas of mine will be implemented as
time goes by, I will highlight it of course so do stay tuned. By now I am sure
you people have noticed that the title of this episode/edition is not No.6, It
is as the title says, much unexpected indeed. Almost always unexpected is good
and that is just what happened in my case.
Okay I am going to make this episode as
simple as I possibly can, for that I need to go back in time for nearly two
weeks from this date. Yes I know I have been extremely slow, remember progress
is better than no progress! So the story goes like this, my good friend asked
me out one day for a casual tea. She so happened to be someone who supports me
on my social efforts, and I would like to take the opportunity to thank her for
her support. Anyway she tells me that she is bringing her friend along and this
person is willing to do an interview with me. Awesome right, I think to myself,
“Now this is a first”. I tell myself that this is a good concept and I might
actually consider doing something out of this experience. I actually feel
excited about this idea, a tea session interview. It seems so professional and
laidback at the same time, I likey.
We agree to meet at a tea joint at our
convenience. I arrive at the restaurant early to get a good place. While I wait
for them I ponder the questions I am about to ask. I take out my handy book and
start scribbling a few down, very unlike me by the way. I guess it’s the
excitement about experiencing something new. Go out people! Experience something
different, try a new dish or a new ice cream flavour, make every day different.
It’s worth living for. After about ten minutes, I spot my friend coming from a
distance with my interview prospect. I take notice to this person and she looks
very timid and quiet. She looks like a very reserved person, immediately my
excitement drops. I think that I am going to have a tough time here trying to
get good material to write about.
I
have learned never to judge a book by its cover, therefore I tried to change my
attitude and keep an open mind. Ill skip the formalities here, everything went
better than expected. I am going to call this person Miss Unexpected just to be
true to the title. I get to know this person better; Miss Unexpected turns out
to be a foreign student from Saudi Arabia. Lucky me, my excitement comes
surging back and I can’t wait to get the interview started, all kinds of
questions starts pouring off my mind. Then the unexpected happens, my friend
that brought Miss Unexpected excitedly drops the bombshell that our foreign
acquaintance is just 16 years of age. I know age is just a number bla bla, but
I have a strict rule unfortunately, the age category for The Guide is between
18 and 35 years of age.
The age criteria that I have is just for
me to get a much mature and youthful response so to speak, more over the blog
is rather provocative when it comes to describing the numbered individuals.
Yeah my hopes shatters boohoo, fortunately I am a positive person and I am
happy to meet a new acquaintance. As we enjoy our tea our conversation gets
broader, quite wide actually. Miss Unexpected surprises me with her depth of
taught for a 16 year old. The conversation ranged from spirituality to the
“Lord of the Rings” universe. This 16 year old knows her LTOR and that fact is
pure awesomeness, too me at least. Miss Unexpected is a thinker and the way she
says things sounds very intellectual. I explain to her about my blog and she
gives me some good foreign perspective on it and Malaysian men. Somehow she
convinces me and I decide to interview her. Guys bear with me, at least from a
foreign perspective she gives me some really good insights. That being said she
will not be one of the numbered (No.) ladies, hence the pseudonym Miss
Unexpected.
Q&A Session
1. What do you think about Malaysian
men? Give your personal opinion based on your experience thus far.
Miss Unexpected cutely tells me that she
has no experience dating let alone dating Malaysian men. Yeah I feel pretty
smart for asking her that. She however tells me that based on her observations
she finds that Malaysian women tend to be rather controlling over their man.
That was rather unexpected, but very interesting. I follow up by asking her
what she means. She says that most women tend to use the religion trump card
over their men. Pretty interesting stuff, but I think I get the picture and I
ask no further.
2.
What’s
your Ideal guy?
She looks at me sternly and argues the
point to pinpoint ideals on guys. That sounds like a really difficult tongue
twister. She believes in the concept of keeping the mind open to new
possibilities. I assume she means that having ideals only limits the ones
expectations. As I said she is a deep thinker.
3.
Has/Will a pick up line ever work
on you?
The answer is NO. But that depends on
how someone says it and if it’s really smart. I guess that makes sense. Guys
unless you’re as smooth as James Bond, don’t try pickup lines and just be au
naturale.
4.
What
is your favourite body part in the male anatomy?
Yes I did ask this, was really curious
on what teenage girls go for these days. Her response was the Guns, by guns I
mean the arms. She says that a man that has big and well-toned arms gives out
sub-conscious impressions that the guy is hard working. Hmm that’s a tip that
am going to take, if you know what I mean. But that not all, She find’s eyes
very attractive too, yeah that we guys can’t do much to improve on and just
blame genetics if some of us are not blessed an attractive pair. I you guys are
still taking notes.
5. Do you find it offensive when guys
comment on how much makeup you wear?
Miss Unexpected finds this notion not
offensive. She looks at this in a constructive manner. She says he would advise
some guys on how much gel they put on their hair and this scenario works vice
versa when it comes to make up. Wow, I never taught of it that way. But that’s
actually a really good example, I guess where it matters most is how a person
approaches when it comes to passing a comment or advise.
6.
What
kind of stereotype would you like to change that you think Malaysian men have?
Be prepared for this, as a foreigner she
says that NOTHING about Malaysian men stand out. I take a breather for my
comrades. She can’t give any comment for this question because she literally
has no experience and the FACT that guys is this country are plain boring. Oh,
I feel the pinch here. What’s happening this can’t be, I feel glad that am
doing this, what she said is a real shocker and I hope the guys who read this
better take a long hard look in the mirror cause we Malaysians need much
improvement. So keep reading and get more tips!
7.
Love at first sight or lust at
first sight, why?
Without much she says that love at first
sight is not possible in today’s world. Everything is based on material
attraction, even from a genetic standpoint. She adds that most good looking men
tend to have an ego complex and that’s a major turn off, no matter how good
looking they are. I laugh. I know this goes both ways.
8.
Do
you find it offensive when guys watch porn
She laughs and tells me that she finds
it not offensive. She would rather a guy keep it a secret cause it’s a personal
preference. She adds that porn can cause a lot of problems in a relationship
but she assumes it depends on the individuals involved and their taste. Now
that’s a great way to put it.
That’s it; those are the questions I
asked. I did not want to ask too many questions because I was not sure at the
time on how I was going to write this. In the end I would say that I was happy
with results. More over its good to have a teenage perspective on things
sometimes, we were all at that stage. I just hope you guys enjoy this write up,
it’s good to take a detour sometime. Okay I am going to wrap things up for this
episode/edition and do stay tuned for the upcoming interviews cause it’s going
to be awesome. Lastly I would like to thank Miss Unexpected for her time and
open mind. Oh please feel free to give opinions or comments on this blog or to
my Facebook page. I really value your feedback.
Till next time so do stay tuned.
The End.
